Our Wedding Anniversary {Photography}

My husband and I celebrated 4 years of marriage this past weekend with an amazing trip to Aspen, CO. It's been on my list for a very long time to see Maroon Bells and I finally got to check it off my Bucket List. With it being one of the most photographed mountain in the world, Maroon Bells took my breath away! I was completely in awe of its beauty and surrounding area of forests covered in color-changing aspen. What an amazing town, one that I have fallen in love with. Now I can see why so many celebrities and billionaires buy property there and travel there in the peak times.

Fortunately for us, its the "off-season", which I'm not sure how "off" it could be in fall with how beautiful it is. But it is a mountain town, which = snow, which = ski resorts. So truly, their "on-season" is during the winter. Because of this, we got a KILLER deal! We stayed in Snowmass, CO; a ski resort town just outside of Aspen at the Viceroy Snowmass Resort & Hotel. It was incredible {I've included a photo below}. Talk about a designer's dream... our room consisted of a faux fur blanket, fireplace, free-standing tub, a Kurig and other luxurious features.

During our stay, we had breakfast and walked the farmers market early Saturday morning. Took the tour up to Maroon Bells, taking in all the wonders of the mountain, lake and trees. Had lunch in Snowmass, drinks at The Red Onion and our anniversary dinner in Aspen at BB's Kitchen, where I had a cucumber martini and a sweet potato puree'd pork chop. After dinner, we walked the town of Aspen and found a mini golf course that they had turned the ice skating rink into for the summer. I am proud to say that I beat my husband 49-57. {BTW - Par was 39}

On our way home, instead of taking I-70 back through Glenwood Springs and Vail, we decided to take the back route through Independence Pass to Frisco. What an amazing drive! With an elevation of 12,095 ft., it shows a view of a few of the amazing 14'ers in CO. The aspens lined the road, and parts of the highway went down to only one lane. I kept telling my husband to be careful, hopefully no one would come racing around the corners.

Here are just a few photos from our trip {I couldn't stop taking photos, everything was so beautiful}:

The Botanical Gardens {Fun}

My husband And I are on vacation visiting my family in Southern California. He had a few work meetings in downtown LA, so I tagged along with him. After "work" was over, we swung over to the Huntington Library in Pasadena to have lunch and walk through the gardens. It was so beautiful {a little warm} but definitely scenic. It's amazing to think 210 acres dedicated to the entire facility and 120 of that is the garden, right in the middle of a huge city! You can go have tea in the rose garden or walk over koi ponds in the Japanese garden. We also took a "desert stroll" through cacti and succulents. So much to look at and explore. The great thing too is every plant and tree is labeled, so if you have a garden of your own and fall in love with a certain flower or type of tree, you can write down the name and look it up yourself. So beautiful, check it out:

Inspiration Posters {Graphic Design}

I recently had a client come to me with a unique project... she wanted to blow up huge posters to hang all over her office to inspire her during a difficult work week. I had a lot of fun with these... something so simple could really have a huge effect.

Eat, Drink & Be Married {Graphic Design}

Sometimes, the Rehearsal Dinner can be just as important as your Wedding Day itself and is really a special part of the wedding festivities. I think sometimes it can be overlooked when planning your big day, but you can really have a great time with it. With family and friends all joining together for the first time, show you and your husband-to-be what the two of you are all about. This invitation style has become a favorite of mine with the different fonts, it gives the design a modern and vintage, yet simple and chic feel.

Keep them all informed with this new Custom REHEARSAL DINNER INVITATION Digital Design. This design can be customized to meet your needs, just contact me for more information @ stewartdesignstudios@gmail.com.

DIY Artwork {Interior Design}

You don't have to be an artist to create a work of art. I needed artwork for my toilette area in my master bathroom and needed something quick and easy, yet modern and stylish. I took an old canvas that I painted years ago and haven't used recently, and painted over it with a charcoal water based paint. Once it was dry I sporadically placed round silver stickers I purchased at paper-source.com {one of my fav stores EVER}. To make them stick and stay attached, I sprayed the entire thing with an adhesive and Voila... DIY artwork!
